We just bought new appliances, fridge and oven, but the dishwasher and oven hood work fine, so we kept them. The new appliances are black, the older things are almond. What paint do I use to paint them? Is there paint that can be applied with a brush available since spray can spatter is a mess. What paint do I use to paint the front of the dishwasher and the oven hood?
you dont want to paint these items with a brush... i dont care how straight and steady your hand is... you will see brush marks... it will not be pretty... a roller on these products will leave pitting... the best thing to do is to get a sprayable paint.... meant for resisting higher temps... use plastic sheathing and tape... cover all the items in the area or take it out side and spray it... if you want it to look nice for a cheaper penny... its not gonna be as easy as slapping paint on it with a brush or roller... if you do it wrong you might end up having to get new appliences... call the manufaturer and find out the actual finish on the appliences that you had purchased and purchase it from them or any retailer that carries that line of paints... good luck! What paint do I use to paint the front of the dishwasher and the oven hood?
Take your panel off your dishwasher, and it my have a black panel on the other side. a lot dishwashers come with two panels or a different color on the other side.
I believe they sell a metal paint specifically for appliances as such but it usualy comes as a spray can enamal.
I'm sure you could find it in a liquid paint form though; just give your local Home Depot a look-see.
Oh Yes, Home Depot,Walmart has a paint/spray paint for fridge, oven and it works great. Just surf the store and make sure the bottle says for Stove tops/Ovens. Good Luck!
Home Depot or Lowe's has this ';stainless steel-like'; thing that you can peel off and cover appliances with.
It'll go very well with your black appliances AND it wipes off/cleans easily!
Hope this helps.
I painted my white range hood black using oil based paint %26amp; a foam brush. It doesn't show brush marks because the hood is textured. It looks good %26amp; is very scrubbable. I haven't gotten up the nerve to try it on my other appliances though.
most dishwashers allow you to change the color. Just remove the almond colored panel from the frame and there should be a black one behind it. refer to your owner's manual.
As far a painting goes it will be hard for a do it yourselfer to achieve the factory baked on finish. Your best bet would be a good quality gloss black spray paint.
