The place I work at has large metal bins that they want to cover in rust paint before the winter. They plan on doing it in the middle of November, but I was wondering if the paint will apply/dry properly. Can you paint metal using rust paint in colder weather?
should be around 50 degrees. It may not set up well or dry very good. but someone will take the fall for it if it's still wet 2 weeks later, long as it's not you. CYA.Can you paint metal using rust paint in colder weather?
YEP, it sure will!!!(if u do it correctly)
Yes, it just takes longer to dry
I work at a body shop, and during the colder months we have to switch to a faster drying thinner. When it's really cold (below 40) we use an industrial heater in the booth to warm it up prior to painting.
Cold will cause the paint to take longer to dry, sometimes as long as a couple of days.
yea as long as its not near freezing or anything you should be cool
yes
yes it will dry (cure) properly, the product in which you are applying it to should be clean dry and oil free. The cure time is increased at lower temperatures.
