My paint doesnt look the same on the walls as the the paint chip strip thingy from the store?

is that the way it usually goes?My paint doesnt look the same on the walls as the the paint chip strip thingy from the store?
If it's not dry, then the colour will change slightly after it dries.

If it is dry, then I've got nothing. My paint doesnt look the same on the walls as the the paint chip strip thingy from the store?
The color on your wall should look much like the paper sample does; the only difference might be the sheen of the paint you used.

It is possible the person mixing the paint messed up when setting up the amount of pigments to go in.

Put a dot of paint on the cardboard sample and let it dry overnight; check it out. If the color really is off, go back to the paint store.

Colors can look different because of differences in lighting in a room.
That's not unusual. There are many things that affect paint color.

the color the wall was before painting it with the new color

How you apply the paint

How many coats of paint you put on

Types of lighting

How natural light comes into the room

and a few more I can't think of right now.

Think of the paint chip as an approximation.
Hi, depend how off the colour it is !

shouldn't be that far off the little sample ,

all though it does on a overall never come out to the exact match, I've seen this before.

i think the best way is to take a sample of a colour to a dulux machine and it gives you the colour is better.

but even then there is still a loss of colour of maybe 3 or 4 %
If you painted your walls a darker color you should use a primer in that color family. The person at the paint store should have told you that. If you went a light color on the wall you should have painted the walls white.
Yes, it usually happens this way. The store strip, is of one composition, while your wall is of another.
It never looks the way the paint strip looks
