I have a large plastic bin that I need to paint a camo pattern on for a camp. What paint is best so that it will not peel or chip off the plastic? What type of paint is best to use to paint a large plastic with a brush?
The best paint to use for a large plastic bin would be a spray paint made for plastics because they will flex with the plastic. Rust-oleum sells a wide variety for plastics including camo colors which sounds like it's right down your alley. As with all spray paint make sure to use it in a well ventilated area away from anything that can get over spray from wind or the aerosol itself and to get an even coat you want to keep the spray nozzle about 6-8'; away from the surface and start your sweeping pattern of your arm before you press down on the nozzle and let up on the nozzle just before finishing your sweeping pattern keeping your wrist straight. This will keep from getting blotches and run lines from concentrated spray. What type of paint is best to use to paint a large plastic with a brush?
American Tradition paint by valspar is a paint for plastic and is sold at Lowe's Home Improvement Store. No priming is necessary and it looks great.
There are other brands sold at Wallmart which also are for plastic.
they sell plastic specific paints. i know they have it in rattle cans, check you local paint dealer/ kelly moore, standard brands, etc.
They have paint just for plastic, or waterbased
I think its called Krylon, it comes in spray paint and in a bucket to brush on.
